We want you to be a working actor. We want the Actor’s Workshop to be a place you come to harness the skills that will unleash your talent and put you on the road to that dream. We want this to be a safe place to challenge yourself, test your limits, and then surpass them.
Our goal with every actor who walks through our doors will be to understand where you are in the journey, define where you want to go, and help determine what you need to get there.
Then the real work begins.
Our Story
We are working actors, writers, producers and directors. We’ve been on this path for more than thirty years.
We met and cut our teeth at The Beverly Hills Playhouse acting conservatory. Our teachers were Jeffrey Tambor, who was working non-stop in TV and film, and Milton Katselas, who had worked with Elia Kazan and directed the likes of Robert Duval, Christopher Walken, Elizabeth Taylor, Alvin Ailey, Yaphet Kotto, and Goldie Hawn on Broadway. Their list of former students included George Clooney, Alec Baldwin, Ted Danson, Kate Hudson, and Michelle Pfeiffer. We wanted to walk in those footsteps.
We became close friends quickly––working on scenes, honing our craft, pushing each other in auditions, taking the lessons we were learning in class and applying them in the real world.
And it worked. We sweat and labored and our careers gained traction. Thirty years on, we’ve traveled the world as working actors, and branched into writing, producing, directing, and teaching.
As part of our legacy, our aim is to create a workshop that steeps its students in craft and gives them all the tools they need to apply that craft as a working actor and storyteller in the real world.
Beyond that, in short order we hope to grow the workshop into a full-time professional repertory theater company.
